Professor Edoba Bright Omoregie quest to leave an indelible impression as the 11th substantive Vice Chancellor of University of Benin (UNIBEN) begun on Monday 2nd of December 20204, amid cheers by his admirers.
Speaking shortly after he was sworn-in, the Professor of Constitutional law and governance, promised to fight injustice and improve staff welfare, a deep emotional commitment that resonated loudly.
He also promised to create a conducive environment where students and staff across Faculties and Departments in the University are supported in their academic and career pursuit in the next five years in the saddle.
Injustice and other oppression within academic environment must be fought to a standstill, according to the Vice Chancellor, who disclosed plans to carryout key reforms that will take the federal government institution to higher heights in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
Edoba further assured of harmonious working relationship with staff, students and the various Unions in the institution and support investments in Research and Development in addition to renewable energy.
Reeling out the University’s achievements earlier, the immediate past Vice Chancellor, Prof. Lilian Salami, who declared that she left better than the way she met it, noted that institution ranked higher globally towards ensuring that public trust is maintained and societal values are upheld during her tenure.
