Ighodalo: N65bn will solve water crisis in Edo

Candidate of Peoples Democratic Party for September 21st 2024 Edo State governorship election, Mr Asue Ighodalo has declared that it will require between N60 billion to N65 billion to solve water crisis across the three Senatorial Districts of the State.

He disclosed this during Arise Television interview on Monday when he explained that the budget estimate is based on a recent assessment of the water reticulation project.

Ighodalo who listed tourism, agriculture and manufacturing sectors and increase in internally Generated Revenue as sources of funds for the project.

Based on my antecedent and fix the water problems if Edo voters give him their support and win the poll, according to him.

He revealed that financing government projects will not be a challenge to his administration giving his backgrounds as head of key institutions and Corporate entities as investments expert.

“Our recent assessment suggests that we would probably need between N60 billion to N75 billion to solve the water problems in Edo State”.

“The issue is where are we going to get the money from? I have spent part of my life raising money for Corporate and institutions. So, I know where the money is.

“The issue is, for those who have the money, use the money for the.things you said you were going to use it for effectively”, he said.

According to him, “Edo State ear a revenue of N15 billion to N17 billion at peal time in a month. We need to build the big pie. So, we should be looking at Edo State that doubles or triple that as quickly as possible”.

Ighodalo also assured that he will win the forthcoming election if a level playing ground is provided for the contest.
