Nigerian Army troops have rescued 10 captives in Ogugu Community on Enugu-Kogi Road, Olamaboro Local Government Area of Kogi State.

Onyema Nwachukwu made the disclosure on February 27th Tuesday February 2024.
He said troops stormed scene of the kidnap incident, where the kidnappers had demobilized a Peace Mass Transit bus, abducted the passengers and moved them into the nearby Ette forest.
Gallant troops diligently tracked and engaged the armed gang in a fire fight, forced the hoodlums to free their hostages in a swift and decisive action that led to the successful rescue of the passengers.
Meanwhile, troops of the Nigerian Army have conducted a clearance operation to IPOB/ESN Enclaves in Egbuoma/Osiam in Oguta Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Army spokesman said during the operation, troops had contact with fighters of the unrepentant group, resulting in the neutralization of one terrorist.
A Mercedes Benz 350 4 matic from their camp, is among the items recovered by troops, according the Army spokesman.
In another development, troops of the Nigerian Army on Monday 26 February 2024, quelled an attack on Katakpa village in Toto Local government Area of Nasarawa State, following a distress call.
Major General Onyema Nwachukwu said an armed group identified as the Bassa militia group had invaded the village where they killed the Sarkin Katakpa.
He said troops while acting on a distressed call, embarked on a fighting patrol to the community and successfully repelled the attack.
During the exploitation, according to him, troops recovered two AK 47 Rifles, two AK 47 Magazines, two G3 Rifles, two G3 Rifle Magazines, 41 Cartridges of 39mm ball special ammunition and 45 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition.
He revealed that Army troops have dominated the general area and continued further exploits to nab the assailants.
The Army spokesman also assured of the Nigerian Army commitment towards the safety and security of lawful citizens by sanitizing troubled areas and maintain peace and stability in the Country.
