The Nigeria Police Command in Kano State has concluded plans to arraign a murder suspect who strangled his pregnant girlfriend, Theresa Yakubu to death with her veil.

Mr Mamman Dauda, the Commissioner of Police on Tuesday, said the murder suspect, Philibus Ibrahim, was apprehended after the tragedy in Tudun Wada Local Government Area of the State

Daily Trust said the suspect, was arrested alongside his accomplice, Gabriel Bila, both of Unguwar Korau in Kano State.

TheNewspad reports that pandemonium broke out after the 22-year-old woman asked the middle-aged man to take responsibility for the pregnancy.

CP Mamman Dauda, recalled that “On April 2, at about 4pm we received information from a Good Samaritan that a lady was seen lying unconscious on the Kano-Jos Road in Anadaria Village.

“A team of policemen rushed to the scene and the victim was taken to the Tiga General Hospital where she was confirmed dead by a doctor.

“Investigation, however, revealed that the victim left Nassarawan Kuki to Yantomo village in Garin Babba LGA of Kano on March 27, at about 6p.m.

“In the course of investigation, the principal suspect was arrested and confessed to committing the offence by using the victim’s veil to strangulate her”, the Commissioner said this while confirming the arrest of the suspect.
