65 suspected internet fraudsters arrested in Edo, Akwa Ibom

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have arrested 65 suspected internet fraudsters in Edo and Akwa Ibom States.

A statement published in Facebook by the anti-graft Agency late Thursday indicates that 47 of the suspects were arrested at different locations within Benin City, Edo State.

Benin Zonal Command of EFCC also said the arrest followed a credible intelligence on their alleged involvement in internet-related fraud, while 16 exotic cars and mobile phones were among the items recovered by the EFCC from the suspects.

Also, the Uyo Zonal Directorate of EFCC nabbed 18 suspected internet fraudsters at Ikot Ekpene area, Nelson Mandela Street, Ikot-Udoro, alongside Tippa road all in Akwa Ibom State.

The statement further assured that the suspects who are billed to appear in court as soon as investigations are concluded.
