Woman dies in hospital after knife attack by son

A 48-year-old woman, Ngozi Nwulu, has lost her life battle at the Federal Medical Centre in Umuahia, Abia State.

Ngozi died while receiving treatment from the life-threatening injury sustained from a knife attack by his son, Ikechukwu Nna during a domestic violence at Ohankata in Obohia Ndoki in Ukwa east Local Government Area of the State

The State Commissioner of Police in the State, CP Danladi confirmed the incident while briefing journalists on Friday at the Police headquarters in the State

He revealed that the 38-year-old suspect of the same address stabbed his mother with knife on her neck to the point of unconsciousness.

The victim, according to the CP Isa, was taken to the Federal Medical Centre for urgent Medical where she was confirmed dead by a doctor after the incident.

“Leveraging credible intelligence, on 17/07/2025 at about 1051hrs Officers from Akwete Divisional headquarters apprehended the suspect and investigation is ongoing at the State Criminal Investigation Department”, according to police Commissioner.
