The Nigeria police Command in Benue State, has confirmed attack Akenawe Village, Logo Local Government Area by gunmen.

One person was killed, while four others sustained injuries during a sporadic gunshots by the hoodlums when invaded the locality.

SP. Catherine Anene, the Command’s spokesperson who said this in a statement, clarified that the victims of the invasion on the area by gunmen that occurred on April 1, 2023, were not worshippers as been purported.

The hoodlums shot sporadically, killed one person while four others sustained injuries, according to the police spokesperson who explained that “Police patrol teams were immediately deployed to the area where five injured persons were taken to Abeda clinic for treatment

“These victims were members of Akenawe Village who were in their homes going about their normal businesses and not worshippers as alleged, the PPRO said.

Accordingly, “The Commissioner of Police, Benue State command, CP. Wale Abass who condemned this attack, has ordered a detailed investigation into the case to ensure that perpetuators are brought to book”.
