Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has met President Muhammadu Buhari at Daura, Katsina State to update him on the progress of security situation, ahead of the State house of Assembly polls in the State billed for March 18, 2023.

The Governor said, “the discussion with Mr President bordered around, but not limited to, the progress of security operations and restoration of tranquility in our dear Imo State and other Federal government developmental partnership”.

Uzodimma in a statement on Thursday, said the progression of ongoing partnership projects were part of the discussion, stating that Buhari was elated at the report during the private meeting.

He said as usual, “I didn’t hesitate to ask for more assistance in our developmental drive and I believe my requests will receive needed Presidential attention”.

Imo State has lately become the epicenter of violent crimes by militants operating under the guise of Indigenous People of Biafra and Eastern Security Network (IPOB/ESN).

Several persons have either been killed or injured since the ferocious attacks on individuals, public and private infrastructure including police formations in the hostilities by the armed groups in Imo State and other South East States spiked.

TheNewspad reports that offices of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) have also not been spared in the attacks since the struggle for self actualization of BIAFRA, which has claimed the lives of security agents and Civilians in the troubled region.

Worried by the insecurity in South East, President Muhammadu Buhari, deployed military operations to weed-out criminal gangs and protect livelihood of the people in the States from the merchants of evil.
