U.S delegation to visit Nigeria over insecurity

A high-level delegation from the United States government is expected in Nigeria as part of the President Donald Trump administration’s moves to protect communities impacted by terrorism.

Citing information gleaned on the website of the U.S State Department, African Independent Television said, the team led by Under Secretary of State, Alison Hooker.

The intervention is part of American side’s Joint Working Group which was set up in the aftermath of the re-designation of Nigeria as a Country-of -Particular Concern.

The U.S delegation will also engage in talks on Nigeria’s counter terrorism efforts, according to the source.

The U.S African Command, AFRICOM announced last Tuesday the delivery of military packages to Nigeria.

Also, the White House also announced military assistance worth over $400 million to some of its partner nations which includes Nigeria.
