Report of suspected transformer cables thief who got electrocuted
near the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) on Makurdi road, drew the attention of residents and passersby in Lafia, Nasarawa State Capital on Thursday morning.

The unidentified victim met his waterloo while attempting to vandalize an electricity transformer belonging to the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), witnesses said.

TheNewspad reports that the deceased was thereafter evacuated after officials of the electricity company, put out the power supply, following the alarm that was raised by concerned residents of the locality.

The incident was the talking point amongst concerned residents who lamented the surge in cases of transformer vandalism that account for frequent power disruptions and huge losses to both residents and the power company.
