Suspected ‘yahoo boy’ dies in Edo road crash

A yet-to-be named man suspected to be internet fraudster, better know as ‘yahoo boy’ has reportedly lost his life in an crash on Sapele road bypass in Oghoghobi community, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Edo State.

The incident happened at about 8a.m on Wednesday when a 40-feet truck collided with the Lexus car driven by the victim who died on-the-spot, while blood stains littered the road.

The tragedy occurred when a tipping truck laden with sand, was ascending a hill to Benin, while the Lexus driver was descending the hill after overtaking another vehicle heading towards the opposite direction.

Stunned witnesses said the truck, dragged the car and the mangled body of driver whose hand was cut off for 100 meters away from the spot where the accident occurred before he could park the truck.

A resident in the Area said, “not even a head lamp of the truck was destroyed. But, the boy’s hand was scattered in the accident and later found far away. We can’t even recognize him.

The truck driver was filled with three trips of sand”, according to him, “The boy was descending on top speed.

“So, he could not control the car, while the truck driver was ascending the hill slowly”.

TheNewspad reports that men of the Federal Road Safety Corps had mobilized the scene making effort to control traffic and clear the wreckage and avert multiple crashes on the expressway.
