Suspected drug addict, runs mad in Benin

Date:

A Benin-based suspected drug addict identified only as Ezekiel, has reportedly gone insane having been high in ‘Colos’ — a mixture of strains of Cannabis, leaving his family in confusion.

It was gathered that the dreadlock wearing homeless man believe to be in his 30’s, lost his sanity shortly after he bought a set of furniture, which he was expected to take delivery of on November 12.

Sapele road bypass residents said they were surprise when they the dreadlock-wearing man, had attempted to attack a man who told him to collect a property he paid for prior to his sudden mental illness.

The man who craved for anonymity, said Ezekiel was also spotted on Sokponba road near Isienmwenro street junction in Benin.

During the encounter, Ezekiel exhibited aggressive while walking aimlessly on the road when he attempted to speak with him.

He stated that he became apprehensive when Ezekiel suddenly pulled a knife and replied him, “if I paid for furniture and I have not taken it to my house, how is that your business?”, while other passersby who saw the daylight drama quipped.

A witness said he quickly retreated when Ezekiel continue to mutter in disbelief and sauntered away to the surprise of everyone, including — a search party that was contracted by his friends at the Bypass, which is his last known abode.

According to him, “Ezekiel has been known to be taking Colos. He wears dreadlocks. On Friday here, he was advised by his neighbours who noticed strange behaviour in him to stop taking drugs”.

“Suddenly, he began to manifest madness. We initially thought it was a joke on Friday.

“The wanderer became aggressive and nobody could tame him. A man he bought furniture walked up to him and quietly asked him ‘when he intend to come and take his property unknown to him Ezekiel has lost his sanity’.

“He almost attacked the man who attempted to give him marching orders, had to run when he brought out a knife and started chasing him”, he said.
