How fugitive who bathed his girlfriend with acid was arrested by police

The Nigeria Police Command in Edo State

on Friday said it has arrested and charged the man, Osarumwense Timothy who absconded after reportedly bathing his estranged girlfriend, Angela Ogah with acid at Ohovbe quarters, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area.

Friends and family members of the 40-year-old Angela who is currently battling for her life at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, UBTH, had called on the police to apprehend and prosecute the suspect who accused Angela of infidelity while dating.

The Command’s spokesperson, ASP Eno Nkereuwem Ikoedem said the suspect was was tracked and arrested by the police and thereafter charged to court for prosecution.

“The suspect Osarumwense Timothy ‘m’ who had been at large, was tracked and arrested on November 30th 2025 and has since been charged to court for prosecution by the police in connection with the crime”, she said in response to TheNewspad inquiry.

Prior to Osarumwense’s was caught, the victim’s lawyer, John Izegaegbe, had petitioned the Commissioner o Police, Monday Agbonika, for urgent action, following her deteriorating health condition of Angela who could barely talk.

The incident re-echoes the need for people to better to part ways than stay in an abusive and toxic relationships that could result in regret.
