Shiites, security agents clash during Palestine freedom protest in FCT

The freedom day for Palestine protest turned bloody when members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) otherwise known as Shiites clashed with security agents on Friday around Banex Junction in Wuse 2, in FCT, Abuja.

Members of the group incurred that wrath of the military when demonstration began to wave Palestinian flags and chanting slogans such as “Freedom for Palestine”.

Tension erupted when security began to fire canisters to disperse the crowd when members of the outlawed group in large numbers started hauling stones at security operatives.

Spokesperson for the Nigeria Police, FCT Command, Josephine Adeh has yet to react to the violent protest at the time of filing this report.

But, Sidi Munir Sokoto in a statement, described attempt by security operatives to stop the demonstration as “abuse of power”.

TheNewspad reports that pedestrians and motorists scampered to safety during Friday’s incident while traffic leading to the routes in the area, convulsed during the stand-off.
