Scores killed in gun battle with security agents in Ozubulu

An unspecified number of terrorists have been neutralized at Ozubulu in Ekwusigo Local Government Council of Anambra State.

The criminals were killed in a gun battle with security agents, while over eight of them captured alive on Wednesday night.

The hostilities resumed after the general elections that was concluded in 18,march 2023, according to security report from the affected areas, Ozubulu, Nnewi South,Osumoghu,Lilu,ULi, Azia ,Okija, and all communities and towns in Ihialla Local Government Area of the State.

TheNewspad reports that Governor Chukuma Soludo of Anambra State, has directed all security operatives in the State to move it’s arsenal to the area which for some period now have been under seige.

Our Correspondent gathered that commercial motorcycle riders otherwise called ‘Okada riders’ in the area have been turned into informants. 

An lndigen of Azia town who didn’t want his name mentioned confided in this reporter that for many years indigenes and visitors alike have been targets.

The source said cyclists will often inform the gunmen of the arrival of a visitor or indigene in the town.

Already, residents of the area are gradually becoming initiated  into the gang to survive as any opposition would spell doom for ones life.

The Anambra police public relations officer DSP Ikenga Toochukwu when contacted, said he has not been briefed on the incident.
