Robbery victim snatches armed robbers rifle, returns fire in Minna

A robbery victim who snatched a rifle from a robbery gang and returned fire for fire at a popular Iya Femi restaurant within Minna Metropolis in Niger State is causing online buzz.

Spokesman of the Nigeria police in the State, SP Wasiu Abiodun said in a statement that the victim was trailed to his residence and robbed of about 10 Million Naira cash.

He explained in a statement that the incident occurred on Friday, March ,6, at about 3p.m when the suspected armed robbers trailed the victim from a bank to Shiroro road in the State.

But, police operatives attached to the Tudun-Wada Division moved to the scene, recovered the rifle and the robbers’ vehicle.

The victim was robbed of a sum of money and his vehicle, while the robbers abandoned their own vehicle and escaped with the victim’s car, according to the police spokesman.

Abiodun revealed that the findings indicated that the victim recovered one of the robbers’ rifles and shot one before they overpowered him.

The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Minna, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects, according to the police image maker.
