Rivers policeman shot dead during stop-and-search

Police authorities have launched manhunt for the assailants behind the alleged murder of a police officer attacked ot the Nigeria Police Command in River State.

The victim, simply identified as Inspector David who was shot dead by gunmen during stop-and-search at a security checkpoint in Amakumba community, Etche Local Government Area of the State.

The Command’s spokesperson,
Grace Iringe-Koko who confirmed the incident to journalists, said investigations into the alleged crime last weekend have begun.

The police Image maker who did not provide details about the incident, assured that the culprits behind the dastardly act won’t go unpunished.

Mr. Dimkpa from Okehi Community, said the incident happened during a stop-and-search operation.
