Pro-Biafra agitator Simon Ekpa gets 6-year sentence for terrorism

The Päijät-Häme district court in Finland has sentenced Simon Ekpa, self proclaimed leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra Government in Exile, Simon Ekpa, to six years in prison for terrorism-related crimes.

Ekpa, according to reports, was arrested by Finnish authorities on 21 November 2024, following an investigation by the Finnish National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) into allegations of inciting terrorism.

The investigation revealed that Ekpa was promoting violence through social media, activity is said to be responsibile for violence in southeastern Nigeria.
