Pregnant Edo woman, daughter hacked to death ahead of marriage

A pregnant woman known as Loveth Osasu Aimienoho Isaac and her 6-year-old daughter, Miracle have been hacked to death at her apartment in Ovbiogie Community, Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State.

Sources said the murder suspect, Wealth Nnamdi, allegedly sniffed life out of the victims with a machete after a protracted disagreement ahead of his planned traditional marriage to him and fled the home.

The motive of the enraged man (now at large) could not be readily be established ahead of Nnamdi’s traditional marriage scheduled for Saturday 29th March, while their marriage blessing was billed to hold beside Ovbiogie market road on Saturday April 6th 2025, according to their marriage invitation.

Aimienoho had wedlock, was not spared by the assailant who concealed the act until curious neighbours informed police Authorities after they noticed a hoard of flies filled the Aimienoho’s rooms where her corpses with her daughter laid.

It was gathered that police personnel from Ekiadolor Division, who stormed the scene, forced the door leading to the locked room when they could no longer cope with the stench from room days after the enraged spouse last week Thursday.

Terrified residents, the murder suspect criminal suspect who hails from Imo State, had lived together with Aimienoho and her daughter over the past three years, locked up the victims bodies in the apartment and fled after committing the crime.

Police operatives who arrived the apartment was greeted with the scene of horror, evacuated bodies of the spousal abuse victims and deposited them in a morgue for preservation and investigation.

Grieving Aimienoho’s mother, Mrs Esther Gabriel who was found at the scene, alleged that one of her female neighbours who lives in the same house with her daughter, gave insight of how her daughter with her grand daughter’s corpses were discovered in the pool of their own blood in apartment.

Spokesman for the Nigeria Police Command in Edo State, CSP Moses Yamu who confirmed the incident in a news footage on EBS television, said the victims had machete cuts on their bodies.

The police Image maker said investigation has begun and assured that the fleeing criminal suspect will be arrested and prosecuted.
