Police evacuate Nigerian Judge after fatal slump

Operatives of the Nigeria police Command have rushed the Federal High court, Kano State Division, Justice Mohammed Nasir Yunusa, who reportedly slumped in his bedroom.

 

The jury, collapsed in his living room was rushed by police and domestic staff to the Federal Medical Centre in Kano State where he was pronounced dead by the medical personnel on duty.

 

Catherine Oby Christopher, the Director of Information of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, confirmed the incident, saying, Justice Yunusa died at the State Medical Centre in Kano.

 

Sources within the Federal High Court in Abuja told Daily Trust on Saturday that the judge has been buried on Friday in accordance with Islamic rites.

 

“Yes, the judge died Thursday evening and he has been buried. He was very hardworking during his lifetime. You know he handled many high-profile cases and dispensed justice accordingly,” one of the sources explained.
