Plateau killings: FG kicks against media sensation

The federal government has tasked the NIgeria media — the watchdog of society on objectivity and fairness in reporting security crises in Nigeria, especially as it affects national security.

Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Adviser to President Bola Tinubu gave the charge on Sunday when he paid a visit to the Nigerian Army Headquarters in Plateau State aftermath of the recent killing of over 60 persons by armed militia in Bokkos Local Government Area.

He said the federal government is addressing security breaches in the Plateau Communities and urged
residents to prioritize peace and unity, pledging that improvement in the security setup in the State will be sustained.

Ribadu, revealed that he was in Plateau following the directive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to restore normalcy to communities recently attacked by militias in the State.

A statement by Samson Nantip Zhakom
Major, Media Information officer Operation Safe Haven, conveyed this in a statement which security agencies for their timely response in curtailing the situation.

The NSA, charged Plateau residents to prioritise peace, and learn to live together as one and assured residents of Plateau that the Federal Government will ensure all arrested suspects in connection to the recent attacks are brought to justice.

Earlier, the General Officer Commanding 3 Division Nigerian Army and Commander Operation SAFE HAVEN, Major General Folusho Oyinlola on the current security situation of the Joint Operations Area.
