Okpebholo vows return of ‘illegally acquired property’ by government

Senator Monday Okpebholo, the Edo State Candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) for September 21 Governorship election has promised to return private property, that were illegally acquired property by Governor Godwin Obaseki-led government in the State.

Senator Okpebholo said the APC led-government will return demolished private property, said to have been built on government land, sprawling across 120 hectares in Oredo and Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Areas two years ago with apology if elected.

He made the pledge at Edo South Senatorial flag-off of Edo APC gubernatorial campaign on Tuesday in Benin City, the State Capital where he reeled out his manifesto on five thematic areas, including, Agriculture, Education and Security.

The APC gubernatorial Candidate also said unlike the ruling party in the State, the APC-led government will accord traditional institution in the State respect and consult traditional rulers on issue of governance if elected.

Senator Okpebholo, representing Esan Central Senatorial District, challenged Governor Obaseki and Candidate of PDP, Mr Asue Ighodalo to on-the-spot assessment tour of public schools.

He also advised Mr Ighodalo to withdraw from the race ahead of the forthcoming election
In the State, accusing him of being incompetent economic Adviser to Governor Obaseki whom he accused of corruption.

He further said, “On September 21, 2024, it is just about a month from now, we will punish them with our votes. That our money they have been stealing since, they would vomit it on that day.

“I am telling you that they will not stay to hand over power to the next government. They will run away. Do you know why they will run away?

“Because the money that belonged to you they have stolen the money and used it to establish a bank, build a 10-storey building for Afrinvest in Lagos”, Senator Okpebholo said.

On his part, the Senator representing Edo North Senatorial District, Senator Adams Oshiomhole and Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, berated the anti-people’s policies of Governor Obaseki led-government
and assured that Senator Okpebholo will provide food governance.

A former House of Representatives member and children of Chief Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion (the Esama of Benin), Lady Omosede Igbinedion and his brothers Mike Igbinedion and Fred Igbinedion, defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to APC.
