Officer arrested over threat to avenge Uromi killings

Hadaina Dan-taki, a police Constabulary has been arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Police after threatening to attack southerners in the North in retaliation for 16 travellers killed in Uromi, Esan North East Local Government Area of Edo State.

His arrest by men of the Nigeria Police Command in Kaduna State in response to the public outcry over Mr Dan-Taki’ controversial Facebook post. The uniform he wore bears ‘PSC/KD,’ meaning Police Special Constabulary.

Command’s spokesman, Mansir Hassan, who disowned Mr Dan-Taki, in a statement released on Friday, clarified that the dismissed was a police special Constabulary with questionable character.

“To set the record straight, Hadian Hussaini is neither a member of the Nigeria Police Force nor an operative of the Kaduna State Police Command.

“It is pertinent to note that his picture captured in police uniform as displayed on social media, which is an improper dressing, is that of him when he was a member of the police special Constabulary attached to Kaduna State Constabulary Office

The suspect was “dismissed from the voluntary outfit two (2) years ago due to his questionable character. The pictures of him in uniform were posted on the Facebook platform two (2) years ago, prior to his dismissal”, according to the police.

Dan-taki’s post, which triggered outrage across the nation, reads, they “would see results within one week. I swear to Almighty God, we must do something for you guys. Have you forgotten all your brothers that are living here in the North? Mark my word, after one week you shall see the result”.
