Obaseki appoints SSG 90 days ahead of exit

The Governor of Edo State, Mr Godwin Obaseki has appointed Mr Joseph Eboigbe as the new Secretary to the Edo State Government, barely three months to the end of the Governor’s exit in office

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Media Projects, Crusoe said on Monday in a statement, said Eboigbe’s appointment takes immediate effect.

Osagie revealed that the Governor accepted the resignation of Mr Ogie who stepped down from his position last week to pursue his ambition as the running mate the Candidate of Peoples Democratic Party for Edo State governorship election billed for September 21st 2024.

The statement said, “The Governor thanks Ogie for his commitment and loyalty to the vision of building a vibrant and prosperous State championed by his administration in the last seven years.

“Governor Obaseki wishes Ogie the best in his aspirations and trusts that he will bring his wealth of experience to bear in pursuing his quest to serve Edo people.

“The Governor has also approved the appointment of Mr. Joseph Eboigbe as the new Secretary to the State Government”, according to to Osagie.

Mr Eboigbe who served as former Special Adviser to the Governor on Budget and Economic Planning and later as Commissioner for Finance, will continue the Governor’s Finishing Strong agenda.
