Oba of Benin suspends two Chiefs for alleged dereliction of duty

Omo N’ Oba N’ Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, CFR, Oba of Benin has suspended two Chiefs for alleged dereliction of their traditional duties assigned to them in Oba’s Palace, Benin City.

A statement signed by Secretary, Benin Traditional Council, BTC, Frank Irabor, identified the suspended Chiefs as John Igiehon — The Izuwakọ of Benin and Aimiukpomonyakọ Oghogho (Ebengho) — The Oyenmwensoba of Benin of Benin.

The statement advised the general public to be wary of the aforementioned “unscrupulous Chiefs that are no longer functioning in the Palace”.

Part of the statement reads: “This is to inform the general public that the undersigned two (2) Chiefs have been suspended from the Palace of the Oba of Benin. This is as a result of their long absence from the Palace, resulting in their failure to carryout their responsibilities in the Palace”.
