Oba of Benin summons native doctors, Priests , Priestesses over security crisis in Nigeria

Omo N’ Oba N’ Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare, the second, Oba of Benin has summoned native doctors, traditional Priests, and Priestesses to an important meeting over security crisis in Edo State and Nigeria.

 

The notification of the meeting schedule to begin at 12p.m prompt on Tuesday 23rd June 2026, at the Ogha Ozolua axis in Oba Palace in Benin City, according to a statement, endorsed by Chief Victor Nosakhare on behalf of the Benin Traditional Council Secretary, Frank Irabor, under the authority and directive of Oba Ewuare.

 

The meeting, is required to be treated with utmost urgency, is aimed at exploring traditional means to complement government effort in tackling the worsening security situation.

 

In the meantime, the palace will also play host to youth leaders, known as Okaighele the following day, (Wednesday June 24, 2026, at the same time and venue and time, according to another statement from the same palace authority.
