Nurse behind social media post on Enugu hospital blackout, water, oxygen crises risk sack

Date:

A nurse who reported the prolonged power outage, water and Oxygen crises at Uwani General Hospital, Umuahia in Enugu State on social media, has been slammed with an indefinite suspension by the management of the healthcare facility.

The light skin female health worker who expressed regret over the decision, alleged that she made the viral video on the internet to draw the attention of concerned authorities to the challenges of patients and Uwani health workers, with a view to address it.

The distraught young nurse who has yet-to reveal her identity, appealed to Nigerians to urgently intervene, lamenting that she did not know that action, which she claimed wasn’t intended to portray the hospital in bad light, but to bring relief to the medical facility could earn her a severe sanction.

She said, “I am the girl that posted the hospital at Uwani light issues. Sadly, I was given an indefinite suspension. And now, I was removed from my Clinical duties.

“Now, I want to ask Nigerians, did I do anything wrong?, according to her, “I never did that video to paint the hospital in bad light. I only did that to bring their attention to restore light in the hospital. I only wanted change. I am so broken”, she said.

A reaction by the Management of the Uwani General hospital, is being awaited.
