Bandits reportedly struck at Jibiya border town in Jibiya Local Government Area of Katsina State, left at least persons injured on Wednesday night.
A member of Jibiya, who confirmed the incident to Channels Television, said three persons were allegedly taken on hostage by gunmen that shot sporadically to scare Jibiya residents at the homes at dusk.
The source said the bandits overpowered Jibiya security personnel deployed to repel the attackers who stormed the town at about 11: 45p.m in their numbers, causing pandemonium.
The source appealed to Jibiya vigilante group Commanders to brace up to security challenges in the locality, noting that the public must show commitment in order to conquer their adversaries.
