Suspected thugs have threatened to attack Lagos protesters who participate in August 1st 2024 protests dubbed #EndBadGovernance in Nigeria.
In a viral video, some hoodlums addressing traders in Yoruba Language during a road procession through Lagos Island market area, warning them that if they do not comply with the directive of non participation in the nationwide protests, they will not be spared.
Recall that on Tuesday, the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun conveyed a virtual meeting where he
proposed legal Counsels to the protesters to confine themselves to a particular location for effective policing.
But, Organizers of the peaceful agitation rejected his suggestion by the IGP and appealed to him to mobilize police personnel to prevent hoodlums from hijacking the protests nationwide.
Organizers of the protests also listed convergence points for rallies and demanded for the contacts of the security personnel assigned to the designed to #EndBadGovernance protesters in the nation.
Stakeholders have called on the heads of the various security agencies to deescalate on threats and provocative statements towards preventing infiltrators from hijacking the progressive struggle in Nigeria.
