A civic advocacy group, Aiguobasinmwin Movement worldwide, has celebrated valiant Nigerian youth, Ehimare Erewele better known as ‘double Chief’, for helping to raise global awareness on the consequences of disrespecting leaders.
TheNewspad reports that Erewele, became the talk of the City after his resounding slap across the face of Albert Obazee — a protégé of Godwin Obaseki during meet and greet tour event in honour of the later in Manchester, United Kingdom.
Few days after the incident occurred, he made a surprise appearance in Benin City, Edo State Nigeria where he was hosted by patriotic Nigerians.
Coordinator of the socio-cultural Organization, Culture Iyamu Osaro said in a statement late Saturday explained that “Ehimare Erewele action has clearly resonated with us, and we are showing our appreciation through this award”.
He said, “The Movement has officially honored him with an award of stewardship, acknowledging his action — like a warrior who fought in defence of his own heritage.
“It’s interesting to see that our Organization is taking a stance on cultural issues and recognizing individuals who contribute to our course”, Iyamu said.
Earlier, the attention craving Blogger and
social critic, had threatened to challenge his alleged assault that has set social media buzzing, in court after throwing shades at each other publicly.
Drumming off the storm in a viral video regarding the rumour of his arrest by UK police, Erewele, clarified that he acted based on his own personal conviction in defence of Edo heritage and denied rumour of his arrest by UK police.
Asylum-bound Obaseki who stays in foreign land after his tenure as Governor of Edo State, while some of his government’s key economic policies, including Museum for West African Art, MOWAA, the proposed 5-star Radisson Blue Hotel and other phantom projects are being probe to amongst others, ascertain the ownership structure and financial involvement his government with local and international business partners.
