Four gunshot victims hospitalized after Ondo brutal kidnap of resident

Four gunshot victims ― brutalized when pandemonium, caused by suspected kidnappers broke out around 8:00p.m on Sunday, 25th January, 2026 at Liberty Avenue, Iluabo area, Ondo State, South West.

Spokesman of the Nigeria Police Command in Ondo State, DSP Abayomi Jimoh acknowledged in a statement that six armed men, whose identities are yet unknown, ambushed and opened fire on one of the residents in the area, John Ofuduwa.

He revealed that male was said to be driving into his residence in a Toyota Camry saloon car marked ABUJA: GWA 674 CM, sustained a gunshot injury during the sad incident.

Police said a neighbour, Oladeinde Tomilola, female, who was also about to enter her compound, was abducted by the attackers during the same incident,

Furthermore, two other persons, Victoria, female, and her daughter, Victoria Olorunfemi, female, aged 11 years, according to the police.

Both mother and her daughter who sustained varying degrees of injuries as a result of the gunfire were passing through the area, when the incident occurred.

The statement said, “All injured victims were promptly rushed to hospital for medical attention in accordance with the directive of the Commissioner of Police in Ondo State, CP Adebowale Lawal, who has visited victim of the attack and the crime scene of crime, while all injured victims were promptly rushed to hospital for immediate medical attention.

The Commissioner of police also condemned the attack in strong terms and reassured residents that existing security frameworks have been reinforced with additional tactical and intelligence-driven measures to ensure the swift arrest of the perpetrators and to forestall any future occurrence.
