Families of fallen officers next of kins get ₦37.9m lifeline in Ogun

The Nigeria police have presented cheques to the families and next-of-kin of deceased Police officers who served under Ogun State Command.

 

Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu presented the cheques, totalling Thirty-Seven Million, Nine Hundred and Thirteen Thousand, Eighty-One Naira, Seventy-Seven Kobo (₦37,913,081.77)

 

The DCP Oliver Ezirim, Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department, represented the IGP at a brief event held on Monday at the Command Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta in the State.

 

The Nigeria Police Force Group Life Assurance Scheme, designed to provide financial support to families of officers who lost their lives in the course of service to the nation, according to a statement by the Command’s spokesman, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi.

 

Representing the CP, DCP Oliver Ezirim, Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department, alongside members of the Command Management Team, presented the cheques to the beneficiaries.

 

DCP Ezirim reaffirmed the IGP’s commitment to Police welfare, while noting that while no financial assistance can replace the lives lost, the intervention reflects the Force’s appreciation of their sacrifices and its responsibility towards the families left behind.

 

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mrs John Shito expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police and the Ogun State Command for the welfare support, assuring that the funds would be judiciously utilised for the welfare and sustenance of their families.
