A Benin-based female sales representative, Janet Bassey Michael who was allegedly brutalized by a owner of
Diamond Event Centre and Bar during sexual harassment dispute with her boss, is seeking justice.
Investigation revealed that the business premises on Welfare road, off Upper Sokponba road, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of the State, is under the radar of security agencies.
A report detailing how the sexual harassment scandal that led to her assault on July 23rd by the yet-to-be named bar owner, came to light after Janet requested for the payment of her N30,000 salary arrear for the month of June 2025 from her boss (now at large) on July 23rd 2025.
Janet who hails from Rivers State, told the Nigeria police at Saint Saviour Division under the jurisdiction where the incident occurred, alleged that her working relationship between her and the bar owner, torn apart after she rejected her boss sexual advance towards her immediately she started working.
The victim also alleged that a heated argument ensued between them after her employer, accused her of disappearing with his Automated Teller Machine (ATM) card and used same to steal the sum of N30,000 from his undisclosed Bank Account, days after she demanded for the payment of her salary arrear from her boss.
Janet also alleged that when she noticed that the bar owner, paid other staff and exempted her, she confronted her employer to seek explanation him on the fateful day — July 23rd.
But to her surprise, the short tempered employer, picked up a long wood and use it to flog and ripped-off her skull, accusing her of been disrespectful to him during working hours on the fateful day.
Thereafter, the bar owner, took Janet to a medical facility where she was treated, but she was advised not to escalate the dispute and her assault.
But the bar owner, according to Janet, paid part of her medical bills and abandoned her and disappeared without paying her salary arrear, prompting her to raise the alarm in a now trending video shared on the Internet.
Janet further said, “I worked for my boss. The first day at work, he told me that he would love to sleep with me, but, I refused. Since then, my boss developed hatred towards me. And there is nothing I do at work that makes him happy.
“It was last month, I was suppose to receive my payment for June 2025. So, I asked my boss to pay me, but he refused. This led me to this injury”, according to Janet who also denied stealing her bar man’s money said.

Igbinomwanhia, who brought the incident to light, alleged that the bar invading arrest by police.
“The guy has not been coming to the bar since that incident”, Leftist Igbinomwanhia alleged.
TheNewspad learned that police authorities have invited the fugitive for questioning in connection with the alleged crime.
