The Nigeria Police have confirmed the arrest of a 28-year-old female suspect, Happiness Clifford, in connection with alleged gun-running activities in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State.
Operatives of the Special Anti-Kidnapping Unit (SAKU), Ubulu-Uku, acting on credible intelligence, smoked out the suspect.
A search of her hideout led to the recovery of ten live cartridges concealed in a bucket.
In a statement, the spokesman of the Delta State Police Command, SP Bright Edafe, said that during preliminary investigations, the suspect allegedly identified her husband, Clifford Okoro, as a major supplier of the ammunition.
Police investigations are ongoing, and efforts have been intensified to arrest him.
Similarly, operatives of the State Anti-Kidnapping Unit (SAKU), Warri, intercepted a Toyota Sienna conveying quantities of “Gbefun Hot Drink” suspected to be adulterated and arrested the 44-year-old driver on August 17, 2026.
The arrest was made during a stop-and-search operation along the Warri–Agbarho Expressway.
The statement revealed that additional quantities of the suspected adulterated drink, other beverages, and a Suzuki Shuttle bus loaded with similar products were also recovered by the police.
The suspects reportedly fled upon sighting the police, according to the police spokesman who assured that efforts are ongoing to apprehend them and to trace the source and distribution network of the products.
Reacting to the incidents, the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, commended the operatives for the breakthrough.
He directed that investigations be pursued diligently to apprehend all individuals connected to the cases, while urging members of the public to continue supporting the police with credible and timely information.
