BTC lifts suspension on use of coral beads

The Benin Traditional has lifted suspension on the use of red coral beads by the general public after phasing—out Omonorhue also known as small white beads, used during the mourning period of Iyoba Omo N’ Ikuoyemwen, Iyoba Ewuare funeral.

In a statement, Secretary, BTC, Frank Irabor said the decision followed the successful completion of the funeral rites of Ikuoyemwen, Iyoba Ewuare who transited 49 years ago.

Prior to the commencement of the funeral rites, the Benin Traditional Council, suspended the use of coral beads in Benin in honour of Iyoba Omo N’ Ikuoyemwen, Iyoba Ewuare.
