Armed robbers have reportedly robbed the youth leader of Amagba Community in Oredo Local Government Area of Edo State, Peter Erhinmwinorose better known as ‘Ebo Amagba’.
The victim was robbed of N2 million in cash sum — met for Community project in addition to his gold necklace and his wristwatch worth millions of Naira.
Investigation revealed that the incident thatat a relaxation bar near a lumberyard on his way residence at Amagba fortnight ago.
A few elders who accompanied him Erhinmwinorose in his Spot Utility vehicle (SUV) also lost their valuables, including iPhones and gold jewelry during the incident involving about five hoodlums who however didn’t hurt the Community elders.
Investigation also revealed that the armed men had trailed the target in their operational vehicle
to the joint where one of them alighted and identified unarmed Erhinmwinorose, gave him a compliment and pledged their loyalty.
The second armed man who stood bye was said to have asked him to give him the cash starched in Erhinmwinorose’s purse and quietly obtained him his permission to use his SUV to get to a nearby destination where the vehicle was recovered after the hoodlums had left the scene.
Other unmasked members of the gang who stood beside a road path, were shocked that the socialite who surrendered his car keys and his jewelry to the gunmen who did not fire any gunshot during the incident that lasted for about two minutes.
A dependable source who confirmed the development to Newspad Reporter, lamented the rising insecurity crises ahead of the yuletide season and called on relevant authorities to step-in.
Spokesman of the Nigeria Police Command in Edo State, CSP Moses Yamu could not be reached for comments at the time of filing this report.
