Amputee arrested for alleged drug trafficking

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency in Kebbi State have arrested an amputee, Amadu Garba for alleged trafficking of Illicit drugs suspected to be cannabis sativa.

Spokesman of the anti narcotic Agency, Femi Babafemi confirmed the arrest of 48-year-old male suspect on Sunday in a statement.

Garba, was nabbed
in his house at Yawuri town, Kebbi State with six bags of suspected cannabis weighing 67kg on Tuesday 16th July, 2024.

Elsewhere in Abuja, NDLEA men of also intercepted
30.0kg of the same psychoactive substance on Kwali-Gwagwalada-Abuja expressway 15th July.

60-year-old Ademola Elusakin and 34-year-old Nuhu Friday Adamu, according to the statement, were nabbed on their way from Lagos to Nasarawa State.

Elusakin told NDLEA that he procured the consignment from Ghana via Lagos with Keffi, Nasarawa State as his final destination, where they were to supply illegal miners operating in the area.

NDLEA Commands including Murtala Mohammed Way International Airport, Tincan, Ondo, Kaduna, Jigawa, Osun, Yobe, Plateau, Kogi, Imo and FCT also recorded breakthroughs during separate operations that led to arrest of illicit drug suspects and seizures last week.
