Aiyedatiwa’s victory reflects Tinubu’s strong leadership ― Sanwo-Olu

Governor Babjide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State says governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s victory in Saturday November 16th 2024 governorship election

in Ondo State reflects the strong leadership of President Bola Tinubu and the dedication of all the All Progressives Congress campaign Council members.

This is contained in his congratulatory message to the Candidate of APC in the election, Aiyedatiwa who was declared winner on Sunday by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)
after polling a total
lawful vote cast in the election.

The Returning Officer of INEC and Vice Chancellor of Federal University, Lokoja, Prof. Akinwumi Olayemi Durotimi declared Aiyedatiwa, who polled 366, 781 winner, ahead of his closet rival in the election, Hon. Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party, got 117, 845 at the poll.

Sanwo-Olu in a post his verified Facebook post wrote: “Congratulations to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa on his victory in the Ondo State gubernatorial election”.

“I thank the people of Ondo State for their unwavering support for our party, and acknowledge the foundation laid by the late Governor Akeredolu, which Governor Aiyedatiwa has built upon.

“Our campaign’s success reflects the strong leadership of President Bola Tinubu and the dedication of all the campaign Council members”, he said.

Meanwhile, President Bola Tinubu on Sunday congratulated Governor Aiyedatiwa on his victory at the poll, just as he hailed the resilience of 17 Candidates that contested the election.

Meanwhile, the special Adviser on Media Communications and strategy, Bayo Onanuga said on Sunday in a statement, ruled out the influence of President Bola Tinubu from the election.

He urged Candidates who are dissatisfied with the outcome of Ondo State governorship election to approch courts for redress.

“Those dissatisfied with the outcome of the election can explore the opportunities provided by the judicial system to seek redress on areas of conflict”, he said.

According to him, “President Tinubu believes the Ondo State election was another litmus test of the capacity of the Independent National Electoral Commission, affirming that the electoral body justified the confidence of the people with early preparations, deployment of staff and materials, and handling of the electoral process”.
