AFCON 2025: Nwabali two penalties save secure Bronze for Nigeria ahead of Egypt

Date:

The Super Eagles of Nigeria on Saturday defeated Egypt 2-4 on penalty kicks at the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Nigeria’s goal keeper, Stanley Nwabali saved Mohamed Salah and Omar Marmoush to earn Nigeria a podium finish after following a goalless third-place match at rabat in Morrocco, North Africa.

During the well fought victory over Egypt, Super Eagles displayed composure throughout the match, closing out their tournament.

Nigeria had earned their spot in the third-place match after a semifinal loss to hosts Morocco, falling short in a tense penalty shootout that followed extra time in their third place match.
