The Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has appointed his nephew, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, as the chairman of the Osun Sports Trust Fund.
Kola Adewusi, the State deputy Governor and Commissioner for Sports, confirmed Davido’s appointment while meeting with Sports Writers Association of Nigeria Osun Chapter.
He revealed that the move is part of broader efforts to reposition sports in Osun and ensure the completion of the ongoing renovation of the Osogbo township stadium, which is expected to meet Olympic standards once finalized, the Government said.
He expressed his believe that he will attract funds that will impact Osun sports positively.The superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido.
He also hinted on ongoing plans to establish the Osun State Sports Commission, which will serve as a central body for sports administration, development and policy implementation.
The government decision has been received with backlash and applause by Nigerians on social media Community.
Eligible voters will go to the poll on August 8th 2025 when the fate of Adeleke would be adetermine the fate of Governor Adeleke who is seeking re-election.
