How three suspects ransacked home, killed family of six in Oyo

Date:

The Nigeria police Command in Oyo State has unraveled the horrifying details behind the home invasion that left a couple and their four children dead in Ibadan, Oyo State, following the arrest of three local residents.

The brutal attack unfolded on September 22, 2026, in Oloba Village, located within the Lagelu Local Government Area, according to LindaIkeji’s blog.

According to the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, the suspects — identified as Hammed Akinbami, Akinbami Ojo, and Padonu Edward—meticulously planned the raid on the residence of Ifeanyi Chukwu and his family.

Armed with a locally made Dane gun, cutlasses, and a heavy club, the trio forcefully entered the family’s home, according to police investigation.

Before turning the attack into a massacre, the suspects thoroughly ransacked the property, making off with N200,000 in cash, a Boxer motorcycle, a Doma machine with a chainsaw, and a spraying machine.

Police investigations revealed the event that began as an armed robbery quickly devolved into an unspeakable tragedy.

Hammed Akinbami fatally shot the husband, while Akinbami Ojo and Padonu Edward brutally struck the wife in the head with lethal force.

In a brazing display of cruelty, the suspects bound two of the children hand and foot before throwing them into a nearby river, and disposed of the remaining family members in the exact same manner.

Following an intensive manhunt and investigation, authorities successfully apprehended all three suspects, who are now in police custody facing capital charges.

While search and rescue operations remain actively underway to locate the remains of the other victims, police have successfully recovered the body of the wife as the investigation continues.
