The Nigeria Police Service Commission has approved 13 Commissioners of Police to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police as part of effort to boost the morale of personnel.
The newly elevated 13 officers and their States include, State: CP Livingstein Ikioye Orutugu (Anambra), CP Bassey Samuel Ewah (Plateau), CP Monday Agbonika (Edo), CP Iyamah Daniel Adebor: (Bayelsa State),
CP Isa Danladi Nda (Abia), CP Afegbua B. Rashid (Cross River)
Haruna Alaba Yahaya: (Jigawa), CP Emenari Ifeanyi Innocent (Benue)
CP Betty Enekpen Otimenyin (Taraba),
They are among the 93 senior police officers who were elevated to their next ranks by the Police Service Commission, PSC, following their successful participation in the recently concluded written examination and oral interview conducted at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja.
PSC’s spokesman, Torty Kalu disclosed this on Wednesday in a statement, revealed that 17 Deputy Commissioners of Police promoted to Commissioners of Police.
The officers are; Nelson Nwamanna, Bolanle A. Murtala, Danbaba Mohammed Labbo, Ajayi Oluyemi, Oki Rita Oyintare, Ibrahim Umar Zungura, Iya Umar Mohammed and Darma Nuhu Na’aliyu.
Others are, Nuruddeen A. Sabo, Tijjani Murtala, Yakubu Mohammed, Ibrahim Lukunche Usman, Akingbade C. Adeyinka, Mohammed Hassan Ahmed, Samuel Erale Ahmed, Adedeji Taiwo and Zainab A. Pembi.
In addition, 28 Assistant Commissioners of Police promoted to Deputy Commissioners of Police, and 33 Chief Superintendents of Police elevated to the rank of Assistant Commissioners of Police PSC said.
Speaking after the promotions, the Chairman of the Commission, DIG Hashimu Salihu Argungu (retd), congratulated the officers and urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them through exemplary service.
Argungu charged the newly promoted officers to remain “truthful, transparent and accountable” in the discharge of their duties.
He further advised them to maintain professionalism and avoid involvement in civil disputes, particularly land-related matters.
“The PSC chairman reminded the officers to uphold their integrity throughout their careers, stressing that they should always remember that there is life after retirement.
“Guide your reputation and integrity. Let your actions speak for you and not against you,” Argungu said.
