2027: Ize-Iyamu asks APC delegates to reject ‘imposition of stranger’

Date:

A leading Edo South Senatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, has called on delegates in the 2027 National Assembly primaries to reject any plot by anyone or a group of people to ‘impose a stranger’ and support his ambition, for effective representation and maximum benefits.

Ize-Iyamu, disclosed this during a consultative meeting with Edo South delegates to the APC National Assembly primary election in Ovia North East and Ovia South West LGAs, where he euphemistically described the menace as a reflection to the downside of democracy, and disservice to the people of Edo South Senatorial District.

The former Chief in the State who addressed the delegates in Edo Language, noted that the danger of imposing a Candidate as Senator as unknown individual, will serve the interest of godfathers rather than serve his Constituents and advance their collective interest.

According to him, “It is better to send the Candidate you know Abuja, than sending someone that is not known to you, but was recommended to you by another person elsewhere”.

He also posited that the reason why most elected representatives do not represent the interest of their Constituents is because they will serve the interest of those who brought them, assuring however that if he is nominated as Candidate in the primary election, he won’t let down the confidence reposed in him to seve the people.

Continuing, Ize-Iyamu said, “it’s not only the Governor that has the responsibility to make life meaningful. The Governor is doing well. He has his challenges as well”.

“But if you do not have a voice at the federal level, what is suppose to come to Constituents may not come. That is the problem we have in Edo South. Who is speaking for Edo South? Who is making requests on our behalf?

“My elders, I am here to inform you that if you send me, I will put an end to the humiliation by the grace of God. I will not only speak for Edo South, I will speak for our people. I will lobby people that matter and attract development to the Senatorial District.

“From the first Republic in 1965, Orhionmwon LGA has never produce a Senator. We are not seeking election for the sake of Orhionmwon LGA alone, but for the sake of the entire Edo South Senatorial District”, Ize-Iyamu said.
