2027: We won’t bother about insult in Rivers — Wike

Date:

Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike has declared that him and his supporters in River State are not bothered about insult their quest to re-enact the 2023 Presidential election’ winning streak they gave President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Wike stated this in Port Harcourt Local Government Area of Rivers State while berating the River State Governor Siminilayi Fubara-led supporters of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, but are now backing Tinubu.

The FCT minister also boasted that nobody would be allowed to lead Tinubu’s campaign in the state, saying that nobody would push him out, according to him, “In 2023, we led the war to deliver President Tinubu in Rivers State.

“Those who supported Atiku in 2023 and couldn’t give him 10% are now saying that they’re going to lead President Tinubu’s campaign in Rivers State”, asking, Is it possible?

“We have led the war and don’t be bothered about the abuses, while boasting that “nobody in this State can push us out of River State”.

Political pundits argue that the rivalry between the former two-term Governor of the State and his successor, was renewed after the later defected from Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress, APC in his bid to consolidate power.

But Wike considers Fubara’s action as a sort of betrayal. Moreso that he remains a member of PDP, yet promising to work for the re-election and President Bola Tinubu in 2027 in APC and ensure that Fubara does not return to his seat in the next election.
