Abia CP tasks operatives on physical, mental health

The Commissioner of Police in Abia State Command, CP Danladi Isa, has urged police personnel to prioritize their physical and mental health in a bid to minimize unprofessional practices in the State.

The unprofessional practices, according to him, include unnecessary inspection of vehicle particulars with the view to extorting cash from motorists and residents.

In a statement, the Command’s Public Relations Unit of the Command, said CP Isa disclosed this at a strategic conference with some senior police officers and decoration of 60 newly promoted ASPs, Inspectors, rank-and-files by the CP.

The Commissioner who warned against over-detention, corruption and any form of misconduct, called on ‘HODs to properly supervise their subordinates and monitor their AORs’ towards ensuring the safety and security of lives and properties across the State.

He acknowledged the significant achievements recorded by the Command, attributing them to the professionalism and resilience of officers of the Command.

He highlighted key points from the recent concluded IGP’s conference that includes; professionalism, integrity, intelligence-led policing, and timely response and security matters.

Ways to improve on the welfare of retired police officers, performance evaluation, and the need to uphold confidentiality of official documents were also spotlighted during the conference where officers were commended for their dedication and relentless efforts particularly tactical teams of the Command.

The conference also featured a session on life after retirement moderated by the Assistant Commissioner of Police Administration, ACP Enahoro George and the Pension officer of the Command.
