Nigerian ex-gov undergoing EFCC trial marries 4th wife

Yahaya Bello, former Kogi state governor, has quietly married tied the knot with his fourth wife, last weekend in Kubwa area of the Federal Capital Territory.

Bello and two other accused persons are currently facing trial over the alleged misappropriation of Kogi State funds amounting to N110.4 billion during his tenure as Governor.

Close relatives and a few trusted associates and friends were present during the wedding to the new bride, 23-year-old Hiqma, was was welcomed into the Bello household without any public ceremony.

The marriage was confirmed through an Instagram post on Sunday by Bello’s third wife, Hafiza, who welcomed Hiqma as the latest addition to their household.

She wrote: “Alhamdulillah, our family just got a little bigger and more loving! A warm welcome to our new family member, Mrs. Hiqma Yahaya Bello! May Allah bless our union and fill our home with love, peace, and Barakah. Amin!”

Reports say, 50-year-old Bello, who governed Kogi State from 2016 to 2024, is formerly married to three women named Amina Oyiza, Rashidat, and Hafiza.

His first wife, Amina, is a lawyer and philanthropist, known for founding the Hayat Foundation, which supports vulnerable groups in Kogi State.

Photographs of their wedding has got netizens talking on the social media space, with some using their handles to disseminate conspiracy theories.
