Lagos market accident claims three lives

There was pandemonium in Monday morning when a truck ploughed into a commercial tricycle and a car at Aiyetoro market in the Epe area in Lagos State, killing three persons on-the-spot.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA) confirmed the incident in a post on X formerly known as Twitter, Monday.

The agency blamed the fatal road crash on brake failure by the truck, which was on its way from Ita-Opo area in the State.

It said, “three lives were lost and they have been taken to the morgue at Epe General Hospital while we have a tow truck on the ground to evacuate affected vehicles”, LASTMA said in a statement.

TheNewspad reports that traffic on the affected part of the road, convulsed for several hours as LASTMA officials make effort to salvage the situation.
