Reinstated Deputy Governor of Edo State, Mr Philip Shaibu on Friday predicted defeat for Governor Godwin Obaseki and Edo State Peoples Democratic Party Candidate in the September 21st 2024 governorship election, Mr Asue Ighodalo
Speaking on Channels Television tagged, ‘Politics Today’, the reinstated Deputy Governor predicted the PDP will not be able to make impact because all the political forces, including himself and nine governorship aspirants that jostled for the PDP governorship ticket with Ighodalo have aligned with APC ahead of the forthcoming poll.
He explained that the winning streak of the Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Monday Okpebholo that will be use to deliver its Candidate in the ballot is not for Media debate or for political expediency.
He said, “APC is winning that election all the way. They were running their mouth that APC is not visible or anywhere. They have forgotten that revolutionary tactics is not is not something you share on social Media or in print Media.
“We have our strategy. We have started out campaigns. I can tell you that it’s one man, one vote. I can bet with you because all the political forces have aligned now against them.
“We are waiting for Obaseki. During the PDP primaries, 10 of us contested under PDP. Nine of us are still together and against Asue Ighodalo. How will Asue come out of it?”, he queried.
The reinstated Deputy Governor admitted that Edo voters will determine the outcome of the forthcoming poll, yet, insisted that the inability of Ighodalo to communicate with his kinsmen and women in his own language, account for the reason why his people will not vote for him.
