Operatives of the Nigeria Police in Edo State Command have arrested Mr Enorense Osagie in connection with the murder of his wife.
The tragedy occurred after a disagreement between the Couple at the weekend in Egor Local Government Area of the State.
Comrade Teddy Fredrick, elder of the victim whose identity is yet to be ascertain, confirmed Mr Osagie’s arrest on a Radio in Benin City.
Mr Fredrick, elder brother of the mother of one, alleged that the suspect. His arrested through communal effort and residents of Ovia North East Local Government Area of the State.
This was after he had fled his home after the tragedy, according to Fredrick, who however did not give details of the cause of the disagreement.
He recalled that “As at yesterday’s evening, we heard information that some of his Community members and his family members caught him (Mr Osagie)”.
He alleged that the suspect was nabbed “where he was hiding” and thereafter turned him over to police Division at Ekiadolor” in Ovia North East Local Government Area.
A Divisional Police officer at Ekiadolor, thereafter transferred the suspect to Ogida Police Division in Egor Local Government Area.
The murder suspect is cooling his feet at Ogida Police Cell for further investigation and prosecution in court.
TheNewspad reports that the deceased have been deposited in a morgue, while a family member of the deceased has taken custody of her daughter she had with Mr Osagie.
