4 suspects arrested over attack on Edo politicians

Four suspects have been arrested in connection with alleged attack on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Illeh, Ekpoma, Esan West Local government Area, ahead of Edo State governorship election billed for September 21.

The quartet were picked up by security operatives shortly after the alleged attack, according to party sources on Monday September 9th.

The injured victims identified as Imoisili Inegbedion and Alfred, both of APC Ward 10, were allegedly ambushed by the hoodlums while on party duty in the locality.

The State chapter of APC has asked the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to take responsibility for the incident, which has heightened tension.

Police authorities have yet to disclose details of the recent bloodbath, according to investigation.

TheNewspad reports that accusation and counter accusations have trailed campaigns by the ruling PDP and the main opposition party (APC) in the State.
